About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Instruct general education courses in the ASVN, BSN, and RN to BSN degree completion programs
Instruct students and develop coursework for assigned classes
Improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative teaching methodologies and techniques
Assist with reviewing and revising syllabi and instructional guidelines
Regularly evaluate students to measure progress toward curriculum and course objectives and communicate progress promptly
Assist with strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives to ensure program quality
Maintain student attendance and grade records and assist with program data collection
Use the Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver relevant and current course content
Provide ongoing student communication through office hours, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods
Participate in professional development and maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure, if applicable
Stay current with college updates
Participate in Quarterly Online Faculty meetings
Perform other duties assigned by the Associate Dean-Online Programs/Program Director-Online Nursing

Requirements

What you’ll need

Master's Degree required in English
HigherEd instructing experience required
Previous online teaching experience required utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS)
Experience demonstrating ability to mentor students
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Documented background in educational methodology consistent with teaching assignments, including education theory and practice, current concepts relative to specific subjects taught, or current clinical practice experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and other MS Office products as needed
Ability to teach courses such as Humanities, Social Sciences, English, Communication/Public Speaking, Math, Statistics, Chemistry, Basic Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, History, Ethics, Political Science, and Critical Reasoning
Commitment to teaching and working with a multicultural and multigenerational student body
