About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Install, maintain, and repair automated machinery and computer-controlled mechanical systems
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electronic equipment to component levels according to company regulations
- Analyze data to assess machinery performance and ensure efficiency
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC equipment
- Document maintenance and machine safety data
- Read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine machine or equipment assembly methods and sequences
- Perform regular and preventive maintenance on installed electro-mechanical equipment
- Use instruments to test electromechanical assembly performance
- Follow layout and schematic diagrams to repair and maintain machines
- Follow all safety procedures and nurture a food safety culture by adhering to Safe Quality Foods requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Accredited industrial electrical certification or electrical license
- Four (4) years of related maintenance experience or an associate degree in electromechanical technology
- Manufacturing/production environment experience preferred
- PLC troubleshooting experience preferred
- Strong electrical comprehension/aptitude of 3-phase motor controls
- Able to troubleshoot at a high level with little to no assistance
- Able to interpret electrical schematics and diagrams
- Able to troubleshoot motor VFDs and program/adjust them as production needs arise
- Able to troubleshoot machines controlled by PLCs
- Able to troubleshoot control sensors, including proximity switches, infrared eyes, transducers, thermal probes, and limit switches
- Good problem-solving skills
- English comprehension, including speaking, reading, and writing, is required
- Ability to communicate and work effectively within the maintenance team and with internal customers
- Willingness to work alongside mechanics as needed
- Ability to stand for an entire shift
- Ability to walk frequently
- Ability to infrequently lift and/or carry objects up to 50 pounds
- Ability to frequently push, pull, and lift close to the body
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, and squat
- Ability to work at heights while on a boom or scissor lift, as required
- Ability to work in varying indoor temperatures, including elevated heat and humidity
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Ability to work with exposure to food allergens, odors, noise, sanitation solutions, and detergents
