About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform Processor duties and support the department team leader and Manager
- Uphold company policies and procedures, including GMP, processing batches, sanitation, cleanliness, equipment verification, and process validation
- Maintain job orders using ERP software, monitor progress, resolve problems, and report processing results
- Attend processing department meetings and contribute to team efforts supporting customer priorities and raw material planning
- Maintain workflow by applying process steps, controlling inventory, verifying processing variables, monitoring control points, and communicating corrections
- Operate and verify equipment including pumps, processors, filters, and forklifts; report issues
- Analyze operating practices and job instructions and recommend changes
- Verify job orders, perform conversions, and measure and weigh ingredients to mix and complete batches
- Pull and verify raw materials for each batch
- Clean and sanitize processing equipment and containers to prevent cross-contamination
- Transfer liquids to tanks or containers while minimizing product loss
- Move raw materials and finished goods daily and maintain ERP accuracy
- Deliver and assemble raw materials for liquid production using a tow motor or power jack
- Return partial containers and finished liquids to appropriate areas
- Move newly received materials from the warehouse to storage areas as needed
- Assist with periodic inventory counts
- Perform preventative maintenance on pumps and mixers
- Adjust noncompliant batches when necessary
- Submit batch samples to the lab in a timely manner
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent
- HACCP Training for Processors
- Familiarity with ERP software
- Experience with meeting production schedules
- Experience being responsible for company facilities, equipment, or other material assets
- Basic raw material knowledge and understanding of how materials interact
- English comprehension, including speaking, reading, and writing
- Basic math skills in converting
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to understand processes and operate all available Processing department equipment
- Ability to maintain safety, equipment, and cleanliness of work areas
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff and coworkers
- Ability to adapt efficiently to rapid change
- Team-oriented and able to work independently as needed
- Able to handle repetitive and routine work; detail-oriented, self-motivated, organized, able to multitask, and use good judgment
- Willingness to work outside the department as needed
- Ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift
- Ability to perform frequent pushing, pulling, lifting, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, and squatting
- Ability to work in varying indoor temperatures, including elevated heat and humidity
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Required to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Ability to work around food allergens, heat, hot water, steam, dust, fumes, wetness, noise, and sanitation solutions
