About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Purchasing Department in procuring raw materials and other goods and services
- Maintain purchase orders for price confirmations and delivery dates
- Escalate purchase order issues to Buyers as needed
- Review and resolve receiving discrepancies
- Review and resolve invoicing discrepancies
- Follow up with packaging suppliers on quality matters
- Assist with MRO purchasing, including receiving requisitions from internal customers and placing purchase orders as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma
- At least 1 year of purchasing experience is preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Familiarity with ERP systems is required
- Ability to interact well with internal departments and a diverse group of suppliers
- Good problem-solving capabilities
- Experience working independently and within a team
- Ability to work in a structured environment following set rules and guidelines
- Professionalism and good interpersonal skills
- Experience in data entry and handling documentation
- Ability to keep appropriate departments apprised of problems
- English comprehension, including speaking, reading, and writing, is required
- Ability to operate office equipment, phones, and computers
- Average vision and hearing; ability to talk on the telephone
- Ability to work around food allergens including milk, eggs, tree nuts, wheat, and soybeans
