About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Senior Consultant/SME with database integration, data migration, system modernization, and technical implementation
  • Analyze databases, datasets, business processes, and workflows to identify integration requirements, dependencies, data gaps, and improvement opportunities
  • Support migration, mapping, transformation, reconciliation, and validation of data between legacy and modernized systems
  • Develop and maintain data mappings, data dictionaries, field definitions, database documentation, process documentation, and system requirements
  • Perform data-quality reviews and reconciliation to identify duplicate, incomplete, inconsistent, or inaccurate information
  • Support relational database development and maintenance, including Microsoft Access and other enterprise data platforms
  • Develop and support automated workflows and business processes using Power Automate or comparable technologies
  • Support dashboards, reports, queries, metrics, and analytical products using Power BI, SQL, Excel, and related tools
  • Gather stakeholder business and program requirements and translate them into technical, database, integration, and reporting requirements
  • Conduct testing and validation of database changes, migrations, integrations, automated workflows, and reporting solutions
  • Troubleshoot data, database, integration, and workflow issues and coordinate resolution with technical and program stakeholders
  • Support data governance, access controls, data integrity, auditability, and documentation requirements
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes and improve program-operation efficiency and reliability
  • Prepare technical documentation, status information, briefings, recommendations, and implementation materials for project and Government stakeholders
  • Coordinate with FTA personnel, project leadership, analysts, and technical resources
  • Provide additional technical and analytical support for FTA transportation-safety programs as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of relevant professional experience, or Master’s degree plus 5 years of relevant professional experience, or education/experience equivalency
  • Significant professional experience with database integration, data migration, data management, data governance, or enterprise systems
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing business requirements and translating them into technical or data requirements
  • Experience with relational databases, data mapping, data validation, reconciliation, and data-quality management
  • Experience documenting databases, systems, workflows, technical requirements, and business processes
  • Experience supporting enterprise system implementations, integrations, migrations, or modernization efforts
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder-communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
  • Must successfully complete required FTA/DOT suitability requirements before beginning work on the FTA project
  • Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Access, SQL, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, Dataverse, or comparable platforms
  • Preferred: Experience developing automated workflows, dashboards, reporting solutions, or business-intelligence products
  • Preferred: Experience with cloud migrations, enterprise platform integrations, or legacy-system modernization
  • Preferred: Experience working with Federal Government programs or regulated environments
  • Preferred: Experience with data governance, auditability, regulatory reporting, or compliance-related data
  • Preferred: Experience supporting transportation, transit, aviation, or safety-management programs
  • Desirable: PMP, Six Sigma, Agile/Scrum, data analytics, or related professional certifications
