About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide engaging clinically-focused and evidence-based learning opportunities through online asynchronous, online synchronous, and in-person instructional delivery methods
  • Teach neurologic coursework across the curriculum
  • Potentially teach cardiopulmonary and lifespan content based on expertise and program needs
  • Contribute to curriculum development
  • Advise students
  • Support recruitment and retention
  • Provide service at the departmental/school, college, university, and community levels
  • Participate in shared faculty governance and professional service activities
  • Build and integrate knowledge for advancement of the physical therapy profession and the University
  • Travel to and stay in the Williamsburg, Kentucky area for designated periods each semester for teaching responsibilities and required program events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Academic Doctorate from a regionally accredited institution with demonstrated clinical expertise and teaching experience (Ph.D., EdD, DSc or equivalent); or Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy Degree (DPT) with demonstrated clinical expertise, teaching experience, and current clinical specialist certification through ABPTS
  • Current unencumbered license to practice physical therapy in Kentucky, or eligibility to secure a Kentucky license or compact privilege within 90 days of employment start
  • Contemporary expertise for primary teaching responsibilities in neurologic coursework across the curriculum
  • Interest in and ability to use online instructional technologies
  • Ability to travel for face-to-face teaching in on-campus orientation sessions and lab immersions
  • Strong organizational, communication, decision-making, teamwork, interpersonal, technological, and leadership skills
  • Cover letter of intent, curriculum vitae, teaching philosophy statement, and three letters of reference with contact information
