About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop gravitational wave data analysis algorithms for NASA’s LISA Science Ground Segment
  • Deploy algorithms in production systems used for ground system testing and eventually flight data
  • Contribute individually to NASA Science Ground Segment efforts
  • Mentor and provide leadership to individuals and small groups
  • Collaborate with researchers at GSFC, Marshall Space Flight Center, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, ESA, European institutions, and international researchers
  • Develop scientific data products for researchers around the globe

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ph.D. in astronomy, physics, or a related field by the date of appointment
  • Strong record of research in the development of algorithms for scientific data analysis
  • Expertise in the technical disciplines of full-stack software development
  • Leadership skills, including the ability to manage and contribute within interdisciplinary teams
  • Minimum of three years postdoctoral experience preferred
  • Cover letter, CV including publication list, and statement of research interests required
  • Three letters of reference required for shortlisted candidates
