About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver high-quality clinical teaching and training to students in clinical settings
- Support patient care while supervising pre-registration students and role-modelling effective patient interaction and care
- Provide professional standards education, mentoring and guidance supporting student development and professional registration requirements
- Contribute to innovative clinical education practices and clinical or simulation assessments
- Engage with student feedback and evaluations to enhance teaching practice
- Train and support other staff on effective, innovative and contemporary clinical practice
- Represent the University in partner organisations, clinical settings and the community
- Maintain productive links with university, clinical and industry partners
- Comply with Local Health District mandatory training and requirements
- Undertake duties and projects appropriate to the classification level
- For Level C: Apply specialist or advanced clinical expertise to patient care while supervising pre-registration and specialist students
- For Level C: Mentor Level 2 Professional Practitioners and technical support staff
- For Level C: Develop and strengthen relationships between the University, the profession and clinical and industry partners
Requirements
What you’ll need- AHPRA registered
- Bachelor’s or higher degrees in relevant field
- Qualified dental practitioner with more than 3 years clinical experience
- Demonstrated understanding of contemporary clinical best-practice
- Significant clinical experience with proven ability to apply expertise and knowledge to inform clinical teaching and supervision
- Experience in clinical or simulated teaching and learning in a tertiary environment (or clinical placement) (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a large team, communicate effectively, and engage in reflective practice to support continuous improvement
- For Level C: AHPRA registered dental specialist
- For Level C: Extensive clinical experience with specialist or advanced skills and competencies
- Unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of employment; visa sponsorship is not available
- Successful completion of required pre-employment, background, NSW Health employment and regulatory checks
- Working with Children Check clearance
