About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Report to the Director of Data Analytics & Technology Transformation
  • Develop and maintain AI-driven applications and tools using Python and other relevant programming languages
  • Design, implement, and manage APIs for system and platform integration
  • Design and implement graph and relational database solutions, including Neo4j, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
  • Train, fine-tune, and deploy AI/ML models, including LLMs and generative AI solutions
  • Develop RAG pipelines and prompt-engineering strategies
  • Design, deploy, test, and maintain medium- to large-scope projects
  • Manage AI/ML product licenses and cloud infrastructure
  • Collaborate with analysts, academic, finance, research, leadership, faculty, vendors, campus partners, and OIT
  • Gather requirements and develop cost-effective AI solutions for academic, operational, and research needs
  • Communicate project status and technical recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Provide regular project updates to the Director
  • Conduct code reviews and troubleshoot deployed applications and AI models
  • Evaluate emerging AI tools, frameworks, and platforms
  • Create technical documentation, API specifications, database schemas, and user documentation
  • Develop and deliver stakeholder training on AI tools and best practices
  • Provide post-implementation support for deployed AI applications and solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 2 years of relevant experience developing and deploying AI/ML models professionally, or 6 years of equivalent combined education, training, and experience
  • Experience with relational and/or graph database design and management
  • Experience with API development and system integration
  • Experience gathering stakeholder requirements and translating them into technical solutions
  • Knowledge of AI/ML concepts, model development methodologies, and deployment best practices
  • Knowledge of LLMs, generative AI concepts, and practical application frameworks
  • Knowledge of graph and relational database platforms
  • Knowledge of API development, management, and system integration best practices
  • Python and other programming languages relevant to AI/ML development
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues across applications and AI models
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work full-time in the United States without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field
  • Preferred: AI/ML platform certifications such as Azure AI or AWS ML
  • Preferred: Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch, vector databases, agentic AI frameworks, Azure or AWS, and Git
