About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to research, teaching, and administration
- Conduct cellular and molecular biological characterizations using CRISPR/Cas9 knockout and knock-in systems, live-cell imaging, and biosensor assays to investigate receptor function
- Investigate intracellular signaling pathways, particularly second-messenger cascades, receptor trafficking, and biased signaling, with a preference for chemosensory GPCR signaling pathways
- Elucidate cellular signaling networks and link molecular GPCR signaling pathways to physiological and metabolic processes
- Conduct structure–activity analyses of ligand–receptor interactions, using in silico methods and bioinformatic data analysis where appropriate
- Supervise and train students במסגרת bachelor's, master's, and doctoral theses
- Support grant applications and third-party funding acquisition
- Undertake administrative duties in research and teaching
- Independently deliver courses, primarily in food chemistry
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed doctoral/PhD degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field, with a focus on cellular signaling networks; expertise in GPCR signal transduction is preferred
- Extensive experience with 2D and 3D culture of immortalized and primary mammalian cells, as well as organoids, including recombinant expression systems
- Comprehensive knowledge of and practical experience with CRISPR/Cas9-based methods, live-cell imaging, and biosensor assays such as BRET/FRET
- Ideally, strong knowledge of GPCR signaling cascades and their molecular regulation
- Experience with computational/in silico methods for investigating ligand–receptor interactions, as well as script-based data analysis platforms
- Demonstrated research excellence and initiative through international publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Teaching skills and experience in academic instruction, preferably in food chemistry
- Knowledge of e-learning is desirable
- Experience supervising doctoral candidates and master's students
- Excellent English skills (C1 level); German language skills are desirable
- Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
