About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive data protection compliance across the business and act as a trusted advisor on privacy-related matters
- Partner with stakeholders to embed privacy requirements into new products, services, and business initiatives
- Conduct data mapping activities, DPIAs, and TIAs, translating regulatory requirements into practical and scalable solutions
- Manage records of processing activities, privacy notices, policies, and procedures
- Draft, review, and negotiate data protection agreements
- Support the handling of data subject rights requests
- Coordinate assessment and resolution of data protection incidents, including remediation and regulatory reporting where required
- Collaborate with the Data Protection Officer on privacy matters
- Contribute privacy expertise to AI and innovation initiatives, including EU AI Act compliance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Preferably a full legal qualification (1st and 2nd State Exam); a degree in Law, IT, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification are also welcome
- Ideally complemented by data protection training or certification
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in data protection, privacy, or a related compliance role
- Strong knowledge of GDPR and German data protection law
- Practical understanding of international data transfer requirements
- Experience managing DPIAs, TIAs, data protection agreements, data subject requests, and privacy incidents
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Interest in technology, AI, and emerging regulatory developments
- Experience in fintech, payments, or another regulated industry is an advantage
- Professional fluency in English and German, written and spoken
