About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and evolve the semantic layer and business metrics, aligned with dimensional modeling (Kimball) and the Medallion architecture
  • Develop and maintain dbt models in the analytics layer (Gold marts), including incremental models, automated tests, documentation, and reusable macros
  • Build and govern analytical products in Power BI, including semantic models, DAX, RLS, publication to the Power BI Service, certified datasets, and organized workspaces
  • Evolve explores and views in Looker (LookML), measures, derived tables, multi-tenant governance, and embedding where applicable in SaaS products
  • Write advanced SQL on Azure Synapse Analytics, BigQuery, and consumption views, with a focus on performance for BI and self-service analytics
  • Implement downstream quality practices, Data Contracts, testing, and monitoring
  • Serve as a technical reference at the intersection of data engineering, business, and product
  • Promote DataOps, Git/PRs, code reviews, and metrics documentation
  • Support AI/ML initiatives with clean, stable, and well-defined analytical data foundations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Solid experience as an Analytics Engineer, BI Engineer, or Senior Data Analyst in a corporate or SaaS environment
  • Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, CTEs, window functions, and optimization in cloud data warehouses
  • Production experience with dbt, including models, tests, documentation, incremental models, and macros
  • Experience with Power BI, including tabular modeling, DAX, RLS, Power Query, publication, and governance in the Power BI Service
  • Experience with Looker/LookML, including views, explores, measures, joins, and semantic-layer best practices
  • Knowledge of data modeling, including dimensional modeling (star schema) and the Medallion architecture
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses/lakehouses, including Azure Synapse Analytics, BigQuery, and/or equivalent platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Proficiency with Git and pull request/code review processes, with CI/CD applied to analytical projects
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear, documented, and reusable metrics
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory or orchestration/ingestion tools such as Airbyte or equivalent platforms
  • Python for automation, validation, and analytical routines
  • Knowledge of DataOps, data governance, and Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD)
  • Experience with Looker embedding or embedded analytics in products
