  • Translate business, grower, resistance-management, and portfolio needs into an entomology and weed science roadmap
  • Define evidence requirements and recommend advance, refine, partner, or stop decisions
  • Provide technical leadership across conventional chemistry, biologicals, combinations, formulations, seed treatments, and enabling technologies
  • Build, govern, validate, standardize, and continuously improve screening platforms from laboratory through field
  • Ensure studies are biologically relevant, reproducible, statistically sound, and transferable across sites and partners
  • Establish quality, stewardship, biosafety, permit, recordkeeping, and data-integrity expectations
  • Coach and develop scientists and technical staff and build succession and cross-training
  • Allocate resources against portfolio priorities while balancing speed, quality, and cost
  • Build networks with regional development teams, universities, CROs, technology partners, and professional societies
  • Lead evaluation and validation of external technologies and partnerships
  • Synthesize datasets into technical positions, risk assessments, and recommendations for R&D, Category, Portfolio, Regulatory, IP, Formulation, Manufacturing, and Commercial stakeholders
  • Define agronomic value propositions, technical differentiation, development fit, evidence needs, and uncertainties
  • Initiate experiments to reduce technical and field-translation uncertainty
