About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the architecture, technology roadmap, and lifecycle management of enterprise firewall platforms, Operational Technology networks, and partner connectivity solutions
- Create and maintain architecture documentation and standards while complying with cybersecurity requirements, enterprise architecture principles, and industry best practices
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of OT networking solutions with automation teams, production system vendors, and site organizations
- Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership for network-related projects and business initiatives
- Drive lifecycle management, modernization, and standardization of LAN and Wi-Fi network solutions across UPM locations
- Assess new technologies and develop architecture standards, designs, and implementation guidelines
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and managed service providers to ensure high-quality solution delivery and operational excellence
- Report to the Senior Manager, IT Hybrid Networks
Requirements
What you’ll need- Extensive experience in enterprise networking and network security
- Experience with firewall technologies, LAN/Wi-Fi environments, and OT network architectures
- Proven track record designing sustainable, scalable, and secure solutions
- Ability to work effectively in complex global environments
- Strong technical expertise
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work with business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and service providers
- Understanding of standards, governance, and high-quality documentation
- Strategic thinking combined with deep technical knowledge
- Professional proficiency in Finnish and English
