About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with people managers across multiple client groups, including Engineering and Retail Go-To-Market
- Coach and guide managers on performance management, employee development, engagement, and team efficiency
- Support and implement people programs and processes, including performance reviews, talent discussions, and employee development initiatives
- Analyze people data and trends to identify opportunities and recommend actionable solutions
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and reinforce Upside’s culture and core values
- Manage employee relations matters with fairness, discretion, and partnership with senior HR leaders
- Support organizational change initiatives and evolving team needs
- Partner cross-functionally within the People & Workplace team to deploy programs, policies, and tools
- Escalate and collaborate with the Sr. Principal HRBP on complex or sensitive matters
- Contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and safe work environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in an HR Business Partner role in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Experience supporting Engineering and/or Sales teams as an HRBP
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Experience supporting people managers and employees across a variety of teams or functions
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and adapting as business needs evolve
- Ability to balance empathy with sound judgment and discretion
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization
- Hands-on mentality with a bias for action and continuous improvement
- Willingness to travel occasionally, as needed
