About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set strategy for a fast-growing credit product while balancing customer needs and business health
  • Translate behavioral insights into product features that reward trust and unlock value over time
  • Partner with Design, Engineering, ML, Risk, Finance, and Analytics to create an executable roadmap
  • Monitor competitive landscape and adjust product and pricing decisions
  • Connect product decisions to contribution margin and cohort economics
  • Leverage Upstart’s underwriting, capital, and ecosystem strengths to grow Cash Line
  • Define success metrics and prioritize high-ROI opportunities through experimentation
  • Own the Cash Line product end-to-end while proving product-market fit and building a category-defining product

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of product management experience
  • At least 2 years owning strategy and roadmap for a business line or major consumer-facing initiative with direct revenue or unit-economics accountability
  • Experience taking a 0-to-1 or early-stage product from launch through proving product-market fit
  • Experience defining MVP scope and iterating based on data and feedback
  • Exceptional quantitative judgment, including assessing funnel data, segmenting behavior, sizing opportunities, interpreting experiments, and recognizing downstream effects
  • Track record leading complex cross-functional initiatives and aligning diverse stakeholders
  • Strong experimentation skills, including hypothesis development, experiment design, A/B testing, and results analysis
  • Strong consumer product intuition around trust, uncertainty, and meaningful tradeoffs
  • Preferred: experience with subscription-based businesses, consumer-habit products, consumer finance/fintech or regulated industries, and Machine Learning
  • Must work within East/West Coast time zones
