About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the Platform Tribe comprising three teams
- Own and shape the tribe’s roadmap with autonomy over what to build and why
- Partner with product tribes to understand their needs and translate them into platform priorities
- Work with modern tools and technologies and influence technical direction and stack
- Influence the reliability, velocity and quality of every product Upvest ships
- Lead development of infrastructure, reliability, development tooling, shared libraries, observability and platform foundations
- Help provide engineers with the fastest and safest path from idea to production
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to bridge strategic “why” with engineering solutions and demonstrate a strong product engineering mindset
- Strong interest in Upvest’s product domains and proactive desire to understand client business use cases
- Experience leading and growing larger engineering teams in a technical leadership capacity
- Prior experience within the Fintech domain
- Strong technical expertise and hands-on experience developing highly scalable, distributed, asynchronous and resilient platforms
- Strong work ethic and pragmatism
- Security-focused mindset and high sense of ownership
- Experience with API-first and SaaS applications (great to have)
- Experience building and running microservice-based event-driven distributed applications (great to have)
