About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Legal Team on domestic and international projects
- Review and prepare first drafts of cooperation agreements with clients and partners
- Research legal questions from Product, Project Management and Sales teams
- Prepare concise legal memos focused on financial services regulation, including WpIG, MiFID II and DORA
- Conduct initial legal reviews and risk assessments of vendor agreements
- Summarise key points for the responsible lawyer
- Develop and maintain standard contracts, templates, playbooks and other legal documents
- Maintain and structure the contract inventory and contract management database
- Collaborate with the Legal Team to automate, operationalise and improve internal processes, including with AI-based legal tech tools
- Monitor relevant regulatory developments from BaFin, ESMA and EU legislation
- Prepare short regulatory briefings for the team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed first German law degree (Erste Juristische Prüfung, LL.B. or LL.M.)
- Pursuing or planning a doctorate (Promotion) or currently a Rechtsreferendar:in
- First practical experience is a plus but not required
- Keen interest in financial services, capital markets or regulatory law
- Very good communication skills
- Fluency in business English and German
- Strong intercultural awareness
- Team-oriented and cross-disciplinary collaboration mindset
- Confident use of Google Workspace, MS Office and AI tools
- Curiosity about legal tech
