About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Raise standards for building, running, and recovering systems
Eliminate toil through automation and engineering guardrails
Improve incident management, runbooks, and post-mortem practices
Establish SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets
Provide production telemetry and observability for engineering teams
Establish resilience patterns including circuit breakers, bulkheading, graceful degradation, and intelligent rate limiting
Validate system behavior under synthetic load and adversarial conditions
Design chaos experiments, redundancy patterns, and failover strategies
Embed SRE practices into product engineering design, delivery, and operations
Mentor engineers and set technical direction for reliability across the organisation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience in high-stakes environments such as FinTech, payments, banking, trading, or mission-critical SaaS
Hands-on expertise with SLOs, incident management, observability, automation, and eliminating toil
Deep understanding of resilience architecture and graceful degradation
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
Proven ability to mentor engineers, complete projects end-to-end, and set technical direction
Experience with Golang, Kubernetes, GCP, Postgres, Kafka, or Datadog is advantageous
Understanding of the investment industry is advantageous
Willingness to work in a regulated fintech, finance, or banking environment (application asks about prior experience)
