About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Gather, compile, and collate patient data and records to facilitate the billing process in an electronic document setting
- Prepare collated and accurate patient data for the Electronic Records Department
- Follow up on missing documentation, including dictation and patient records
- Respond to department requests for missing and/or additional information
- Gain familiarity with the day-to-day operations of the department and company
- Perform and assist with other department duties as needed
- Demonstrate teamwork, support department and company goals, assist others, adapt positively to change, and work proactively with minimal supervision
- Assist with conflict resolution by persuading others through explanation and approaching conflict positively
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least two years of computer experience
- Knowledge of and skill in using basic personal computers in a Windows environment
- Knowledge of medical insurance and its terminology is helpful
- Skill in operating office equipment, such as a scanner and copy machine
- Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to process assigned duties in an organized manner
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- Ability to identify, research, and solve problems and discrepancies
- Ability to perform in a multi-task environment
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to work overtime when needed
- Ability to identify emerging issues and communicate them to management
- Experience in document imaging is preferred but not required
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods and occasionally walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 15 pounds
- Close visual acuity required
