About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide routine and non-routine care and education to patients
  • Assist the Physician and Charge Nurse as needed
  • Accurately document all care provided in patient charts
  • Triage patient calls and respond to requests within 24 hours
  • Notify the Physician of urgent matters and test results
  • Perform clinic duties efficiently to maintain smooth clinic flow
  • Prepare patients for examinations, tests, and procedures
  • Conduct physician-ordered procedures and referrals
  • Schedule outside-facility testing and procedures
  • Coordinate with Authorization Specialists to ensure procedures are pre-authorized for reimbursement
  • Follow safety guidelines and universal blood and body fluid precautions
  • Keep work and clinical areas clean and neat
  • Represent the company positively and foster a patient-service-oriented, teamwork-focused environment
  • Respect and maintain patient privacy
  • Take daily assignment direction from the physician’s RN or Nursing Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited certified medical assistant or accredited nursing program
  • Maintain valid certification or Louisiana LPN license
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience performing clinical activities in a medical environment
  • Ability to provide routine and non-routine patient care and education
  • Ability to triage patient calls and respond within 24 hours
  • Ability to conduct physician-ordered procedures and referrals
  • Knowledge of safety guidelines and universal blood and body fluid precautions
  • Ability to maintain patient privacy
  • Ability to follow direction from a physician’s RN or Nursing Manager
