About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead client relationships and provide client support across various projects
- Lead consulting engagements of all sizes and ensure project objectives meet organizational service standards
- Manage client projects day to day
- Supervise Senior and Associate Consultants, Analysts, and other assigned staff
- Serve as project leader and primary technical subject matter expert
- Participate in stakeholder interviews, workshops, and discovery sessions
- Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements
- Analyze business challenges and identify process, operational, and technology improvements
- Develop process maps, workflows, use cases, and business analysis documentation
- Support business case development and client recommendations
- Contribute to utility transformation engagements involving AMI, MDM, CIS, customer experience, digital transformation, grid modernization, operational excellence, and strategic advisory services
- Conduct gap analyses, research industry trends and emerging technologies, and support solution evaluations
- Prepare presentations, reports, executive summaries, and client-facing materials
- Participate in client meetings and coordinate activities across clients, vendors, and project teams
- Support testing, validation, training, and business readiness activities
- Collect and analyze business and operational data
- Support dashboards, KPIs, and performance reporting
- Build client and internal relationships and contribute to knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and innovation initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Economics, Information Technology, Public Administration, or a related discipline
- 1–3 years of relevant experience
- Experience in utilities, energy, municipal services, engineering consulting, or technology projects is considered an asset
- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements is considered an asset
- Experience with Power BI, data analysis, or reporting tools is considered an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams
- Familiarity with process mapping tools such as Visio or Blueworks is considered an asset
- Understanding of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies is considered an asset
- Understanding of AI and its potential applications and impacts within large organizations is considered an asset
- Ability to transform information into clear, actionable recommendations
- Ability to travel to client sites within North America
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively
- Initiative, curiosity, accountability, and willingness to learn
- Comfortable working directly with clients and stakeholders
- Successful candidates must complete SIN and passport verification and pass a police vulnerability check
- Must have current legal authorization to work in Canada or the U.S.; Util-Assist does not offer immigration-related support
