About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Obtain initial and renewal authorizations
- Perform insurance verification and follow-up
- Monitor patient insurance coverage compliance
- Act as communication liaison between team members, third-party payers, patients, and billing
- Obtain convert-to-purchase authorizations
- Follow up on rental compliance, convert-to-purchase, and renewal prescriptions
- Communicate with patients by phone and letters about compliance and financial responsibility
- Answer questions about insurance coverage of services
- Check insurance eligibility and verify qualifications for insurance changes
- Monitor and forward payer-requested documentation for reimbursement
- Review monthly Brightree reports for insurance changes and Medicare eligibility
- Stay familiar with legislation affecting service delivery and billing
- Review and complete WIPS and assigned tasks
- Attend workshops, meetings, and seminars regarding legislative, regulatory, and industry changes
- Provide peer-review input on selected employee performance reviews
- Follow infection-control and safety procedures
- Report errors or near misses through the occurrence reporting system
- Obtain and maintain federally required documents
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must live within 2 hours driving distance of the Middleton location
- Must come onsite once quarterly after onsite training is completed
- Successfully complete initial and ongoing organizational and department education, training, and competency requirements
- Understand, demonstrate, and follow organizational infection control guidelines (CDIC)
- Follow Medicare and Medicaid rules and regulations
- Maintain federally required documents completely and timely
