About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create original exam-style questions and answer explanations for UWorld's digital MCAT Biochemistry question bank
- Develop digital and print educational materials, including video lecture slides and scripts, educational flashcards, biochemistry and Chemistry review books and study guides, and other curricular materials
- Ensure content is accurate, clear, and aligned with applicable MCAT content specifications and educational objectives
- Apply sound instructional principles to make complex scientific concepts accessible to students
- Review and refine existing content, incorporating editorial and subject-matter feedback
- Respond to content feedback and make revisions to maintain accuracy, precision, and instructional effectiveness
- Collaborate remotely with editors, illustrators, and other content professionals throughout development and review
- Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of UWorld's proprietary educational materials
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree or higher in Biochemistry, Biological Chemistry, or a related biomedical science field; PhD preferred
- Demonstrated experience writing, editing, or reviewing academic or instructional content
- 2+ years of teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level
- 2+ years of scientific research experience
- Strong written communication skills and ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly
- Experience writing multiple-choice questions, answer explanations, or test-preparation materials preferred
- Experience with instructional design, curriculum development, or educational content development preferred
- Familiarity with the MCAT and its content specifications preferred
- Experience developing educational materials for digital learning platforms preferred
- Strong subject-matter expertise in biochemistry
- Excellent scientific writing and editing skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, student-friendly explanations
- Ability to work independently and manage project deadlines
- Receptiveness to feedback and ability to incorporate revisions effectively
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and common digital collaboration tools
