About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and maintain backend components on HPE NonStop
Follow change-control practices, coding standards, and environment-specific performance considerations including I/O, locking, and concurrency
Analyze and resolve complex defects in legacy systems
Trace transactions, diagnose failures, and implement corrective adjustments with minimal impact
Ensure data integrity and operational continuity
Implement and maintain integrations with external systems using services, files, queues, sockets, and processes
Ensure data validation, error handling, and traceability
Query and adjust NonStop databases including SQL/MP, SQL/MX, and Enscribe
Optimize queries, structures, and access methods for response time and stability under load
Document flows, business rules, integration contracts, and operational procedures
Collaborate with Java/Kafka teams to map core data and rules to canonical models

Requirements

What you’ll need

HPE NonStop (Tandem) experience: TAL, COBOL NonStop, TACL, Pathway, Guardian/OSS
SQL/MP, SQL/MX, Enscribe, EMS/NonStop diagnostics, and monitoring/log utilities such as Prognosis
Integration using TCP/IP sockets, flat files, and exchange formats such as CSV/JSON where applicable
Change management and technical documentation
3 years of experience in banking
English at 80% advanced level; the posting also mentions intermediate English
Ability to work in a hybrid model with 3 days in the office, as defined by the manager/area/project
Occasional on-site attendance for planning, refinement sessions, training, or potentially during the first week of assignment
