About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Install, configure and maintain Windows Servers, including Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
- Monitor system performance, availability and security
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and other Windows services
- Manage Exchange 2016/2019 Server and Office 365 Exchange Online environments
- Perform system updates, patches and backups
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network issues
- Implement and maintain disaster recovery strategies
- Manage file and print services, user permissions and access controls
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell or other scripting tools
- Collaborate with development teams to deploy and maintain in-house or third-party applications
- Manage incidents and communicate with users, application owners and senior stakeholders
- Improve infrastructure stability and performance by identifying recurring failures and advising application owners on permanent fixes, including Linux-related issues
- Use engineering tools and machine-learning techniques to automate failure detection, health restoration and discrepancy notifications
- Identify alerts and processes that can be automated and work with the Engineering team
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of Windows administration and application support experience
- Strong understanding of Unix and Windows Server architecture
- Proficiency with Windows/Unix/Linux-based operating systems, commands and utilities
- Proficiency with Configuration Management Tools
- Proficiency in managing Windows Server environments
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Hyper-V
- Familiarity with networking concepts including TCP/IP, firewalls and VPN
- Basic troubleshooting knowledge of MS Exchange administration for Exchange 2016/2019 and M365 suite
- Experience with remote management consoles such as Dell iDRAC, HP iLO and VCenter/vSphere
- Hands-on experience developing PowerShell scripts to automate OS and Windows application tasks
- Experience researching solutions to automate complex tasks
- Hands-on experience administering Windows server-side infrastructure, including Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, Active Directory and server hardware
- Experience with associated technologies such as DNS and DHCP
