About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Report to the designated base of operation, including field assignment, at a minimum 5 days per week to support the project
  • Support the project based on fluctuating working hours to support execution and project timelines
  • Provide oversight and determine contract adherence for performance, cost, scope, schedule, and quality
  • Monitor contract performance to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled and key milestones are met
  • Support the on-site construction management team for field execution
  • Inspect construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction/safety standards
  • Prepare or direct preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, environmental impact studies, and project designs
  • Maintain and update project schedules with assistance from the construction manager or project scheduler
  • Maintain, verify, and report cost and income quantities for work performed
  • Review, approve, and submit progress billings
  • Analyze, prepare, maintain, and monitor job costs
  • Work with the construction management team to control job costs and production budget
  • Prepare and audit monthly cost, income, and cash flow projections
  • Execute and approve invoices
  • Coordinate, price, and assist the Lead Project Manager with change orders and claims
  • Respond quickly to issues and proactively solve problems while handling multiple tasks
  • Organize office and filing systems and maintain accurate project correspondence files
  • Prepare quality control procedures and review department procedures for compliance and correctness
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal/external stakeholders on quality-related matters
  • Prepare agendas, meeting minutes, and action item logs for weekly project update meetings
  • Assist in developing and reviewing executive update presentations
  • Assist in reviewing project schedules and forecasts to support project controls
  • Assist in drafting RFI and NCR responses
  • Assist the logistics specialist with reviewing and inventorying materials and equipment
  • Assist with the Project Manager’s daily activities, including communications matrices, procurement activities, project management documents, and lessons learned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Construction Management Degree (B.S) or similar (Engineering degree) preferred
  • 3-5+ years of experience in related field
  • Experience with large complex projects that consist of a combination of internal/external and labor/non-labor cost components
  • Experience building combined cycle or simple cycle power plants
  • Experience building or managing heavy industrial work
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication and strong interpersonal skills are requisite
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
