About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze demand and plan procurement activities, taking into account the specific requirements and needs of the area.
- Obtain quotations and negotiate with suppliers to procure materials, seeking the best price, lead time, and quality conditions.
- Evaluate proposals, samples, and contracts, ensuring compliance with established requirements.
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships, seeking long-term partnerships and innovation in materials sourcing.
- Identify new market trends and innovative products that can add value to the business.
- Ensure supplier and material data is kept up to date in the system.
- Support contract management by monitoring deadlines, terms, and necessary renewals.
- Collaborate in resolving operational issues related to purchase orders, material receipt, and invoicing.
- Participate in inventory counts and stock audits.
- Immediately report compliance issues to the designated departments.
- Understand and apply risk management, internal controls, health, safety, and environmental policies, including actions for emergency situations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
- Solid experience in procurement processes and strategic negotiations with international and domestic suppliers (required).
- Advanced/fluent English for meetings with international suppliers (assessed during the hiring process).
- Experience automating operational processes within day-to-day Procurement activities (important).
- Ability to work independently, with minimal day-to-day supervision.
- Experience handling and resolving moderately to highly complex issues using critical analysis and sound decision-making.
- Experience working with different business areas and stakeholders at various hierarchical levels.
- Ability to influence decisions and serve as a technical reference for the team.
- Postgraduate degree, MBA, or specialization in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (a plus).
- Experience in Strategic Sourcing and supplier management (a plus).
- Experience serving as a mentor or technical reference for junior professionals (a plus).
- Knowledge of procurement KPIs, cost reduction (savings), and contract management (a plus).
