About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, implement, update, and maintain Workday Payroll and Time Tracking technology and systems
  • Serve as the functional and technical lead for complex system enhancements and organizational initiatives
  • Establish and maintain system standards, documentation, and governance practices
  • Evaluate and recommend solutions aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices
  • Provide oversight for system health, performance, and configuration integrity
  • Lead discovery sessions and consult with business leaders to understand strategic needs
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable system solutions
  • Design and recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, compliance, and user experience
  • Serve as the primary HRIS consultant to Payroll and HR leadership and key stakeholders
  • Lead testing strategy, execution planning, change deployment, user acceptance testing, and deployment readiness activities
  • Evaluate system releases and determine organizational impact
  • Manage risk associated with system changes and enhancements
  • Design and develop complex reports, dashboards, and workforce analytics solutions
  • Improve data quality, governance, and reporting standards
  • Establish data validation and audit processes
  • Support strategic workforce planning and analytics needs
  • Act as a strategic advisor to Payroll, HR, business, and executive stakeholders
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives involving Payroll, HR systems, data, and integrations
  • Build partnerships with IT, vendors, and operational leaders
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Payroll and other team members
  • Facilitate stakeholder discussions, prioritization efforts, and solution reviews
  • Drive HR technology roadmap initiatives and system optimization efforts
  • Research emerging HR technologies and recommend innovative solutions
  • Lead governance, prioritization, and change control processes
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes and leverage system capabilities
  • Champion continuous improvement and operational excellence across HR technology functions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, or related field required
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of HRIS, business systems, or HR technology experience
  • Hands-on configuration experience in Workday Payroll
  • Hands-on configuration experience in Workday Time Tracking
  • Advanced experience with enterprise HR systems, preferably Workday
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex configurations, projects, and system enhancements
  • Strong analytical, consulting, project management, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience developing complex reports, dashboards, and data-driven recommendations
  • Advanced Workday functional configuration experience, including business processes, security, reporting, and organizational structures preferred
  • Experience leading testing, releases, and change management activities preferred
  • Knowledge of integrations, middleware, and HR technology ecosystems preferred
  • Experience mentoring analysts or leading functional workstream preferred
  • Healthcare or large-enterprise HRIS experience preferred
  • Workday Pro certifications or equivalent HR technology certifications preferred
