Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years writing features for established tech/consumer outlets
Prior bylines required
Deep knowledge of at least one covered beat: smartwatches and fitness trackers; smart rings; smart glasses; health, fitness, and sleep tracking features and apps; wearable software and firmware; wearable accessories, setups, and workflows
Current Android devices (Android 14+) and any smart home/E Ink gear to be covered
US or Canada-based preferred; exceptional writers elsewhere considered if they can reliably work within an Eastern time zone
Passion for the beat and ability to deliver fresh, original takes
Three relevant previously written articles, including at least one hands-on
Brief note on primary beat and hardware setup
Fresh pitch idea tailored to Android Police
Links to social profiles or portfolio
Ability to contribute a minimum set of published stories per month
