Key responsibilities & impact

Further develop the Laravel application and backend architecture
Develop and expand REST APIs for iOS and Android apps
Implement features end to end, from the database and business logic through to the API
Write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code
Further develop database structures and interfaces
Develop authentication, permissions, background processes, notifications, and other backend functionality
Analyze, improve, and continuously enhance existing systems
Write automated unit, feature, and API tests
Further develop the hosting and deployment infrastructure
Improve and automate CI/CD processes
Monitor monitoring, logging, and performance
Optimize development, staging, and production environments
Address security and scalability considerations
Evaluate new tools and technologies and integrate them into the technology stack
Contribute your own product ideas and support features from initial concept through implementation
Work closely with the founders, mobile development team, and other team members
Identify user needs and use them to develop digital products
Use AI tools for development, refactoring, debugging, testing, documentation, and idea generation

What you’ll need

Several years of professional experience, ideally at least 3 years, with PHP and Laravel
Experience with production applications, including their operation and continuous development
Strong experience building and further developing REST APIs
Excellent knowledge of relational databases and sound database design
Knowledge of Clean Code, SOLID, MVC, and dependency injection
Experience with automated testing, particularly unit and feature testing
Experience with Vue.js, Inertia.js, and Tailwind CSS is a plus
Experience with CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, server administration, or monitoring is a plus
Willingness to contribute ideas, take ownership, and help shape technical decisions
Confident use of AI tools in development, along with the ability to code without AI and critically evaluate technical output
Enjoy solving complex problems and developing simple, robust, and intuitive solutions
Self-directed working style and an interest in making an impact at an agile start-up
Academic or vocational background is not decisive; skills and mindset are what matter
