About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the development and implementation of a communications strategy for Banking Operations
- Review current communication practices and identify opportunities to improve clarity, consistency, navigation and effectiveness
- Develop reusable communication templates, tools, standards, guides and resources
- Help establish consistent approaches for communication format, structure, timing, audience and key messaging
- Support guidance on what needs to be communicated, to whom, when and through which channel
- Work with Banking Operations leaders and subject matter experts to translate operational communication needs into practical approaches, tools and resources
- Organize and streamline communications across projects, process changes, new initiatives and operational updates
- Identify opportunities to simplify communication processes and improve access to information for member-facing employees
- Gather stakeholder and employee feedback to identify communication gaps and improvement opportunities
- Explore ways to measure communication effectiveness and support continuous improvement
- Support other Banking Operations initiatives and projects as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a post-secondary program in Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, English, Digital Communications, Change Management, or a related field
- Strong written communication and editing skills
- Ability to turn complex information into clear and easy-to-understand content
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work with different stakeholders, gather information and turn it into practical tools, recommendations and resources
- Interest in communications strategy, employee experience and process improvement
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and SharePoint
- Curiosity and interest in understanding how effective communications can support employees and improve business operations
- Previous co-op, internship, volunteer or project experience involving internal communications, corporate communications, change communications or business operations is nice to have
- Experience creating communication templates, guides, presentations, toolkits or other reusable resources is nice to have
- Exposure to financial services, retail banking, credit unions or another customer/member-facing environment is nice to have
- Experience with SharePoint, Canva, Microsoft Forms, Power Automate or other communications/productivity tools is nice to have
- Interest in process improvement is nice to have
