About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with installation, assembly, dismantling, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery
- Work with high-complexity precision machinery, including high-speed sorters, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pumps, gears, bearings, and compressors
- Supervise fitting bearings, aligning gears and wheels, attaching motors, and connecting belts according to blueprints and drawings
- Supervise machinery dismantling using hand tools
- Supervise unloading, inspection, movement, and positioning of equipment using cranes, hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks
- Supervise rigging and hoisting devices to move equipment and materials
- Supervise up to 10 workers
- Support inventory control and logging through a digital application
- Occasionally supervise and qualify the work of journeymen, helpers, and laborers
- Work Monday through Friday for 40-plus hours per week, with availability to work 7 days per week
- Travel up to 100% as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5 to 7 years of experience in mechanical installations
- Must meet all physical demands described in the posting
- Experience using industrial hand tools and power tools
- OSHA 10 or above
- Former/technical education required
- Reliable transportation
- Able to work 7 days, as needed
- Ability to read blueprints, schematic drawings, and engineering specifications
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
- Able to obtain mandatory local badging required by the customer or GC at the assignment location
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- All journeymen hand tools
- Working knowledge of cables, ropes, hoists, and chains
- Knowledge of math concepts, geometry, and layout
- Good reading comprehension
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions and at heights
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
