About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design customized data center solutions focused on electrical and mechanical infrastructure, including power, cooling, redundancy, and facility systems
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data center infrastructure, building systems, and white-space fit-outs
- Support high-level solution concepts for scalability, reliability, and operational alignment
- Engage clients to understand business needs, technical requirements, and challenges
- Conduct requirements analysis and translate business needs into technical specifications
- Provide technical leadership from initial concept and design through implementation and post-deployment support
- Partner with Design Engineering, Construction, Operations, Commercial, Legal, and other departments
- Evaluate and recommend technologies, products, and services aligned with client needs and industry standards
- Monitor emerging data center technologies and trends
- Develop and lead proof-of-concept initiatives
- Oversee solution testing and validation for performance, security, and reliability
- Create and maintain solution design, configuration, and deployment documentation
- Provide knowledge transfer and training to clients and internal teams
- Support sales teams during pre-sales, including client presentations, proposal development, and RFP responses
- Assist with solution blueprints, cost estimates, and technical proposals
- Identify improvements to solution design processes, tools, and methodologies
- Contribute to solution architecture best practices and standards
- Handle additional duties assigned by Management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in a customer-facing technical or sales engineering role, supporting electrical and mechanical data center solutions during pre-sales and early project phases
- Experience with Telecom and networking
- Proven experience designing and implementing complex technical solutions in the data center or technology industry
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to design scalable and reliable solutions
- Strong communication and social skills
- Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Ability to manage numerous projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical judgment
- Travel required up to 5%, with potential to increase
- Ability to occasionally perform physical tasks including standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, kneeling, and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds
