About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Business Operations, and Site Operations teams to transition new data centers to Site Operations
- Develop and manage deployment project schedules, milestone tracking, and risk mitigation plans
- Review commissioning documentation, TAB reports, and turnover deliverables to validate operational performance and compliance with design intent
- Manage recruitment, staffing, onboarding, and training of new Operations teams at greenfield sites
- Establish Operations protocols, procedures, and standards for newly built facilities
- Ensure Commissioning and Facility Acceptance quality for technically sound facility turnover
- Collaborate with stakeholders throughout all phases of new data center builds
- Track project deliverables, escalate risks and issues, and recommend mitigation strategies
- Complete Ops Site Deployment quality control checklists and Site Start-Up processes
- Compile and adapt MOP, SOP, and EOP templates for site-specific start-up
- Ensure readiness of Operations Support spaces, safety protocols, billing systems, asset management systems, CMMS, and site security systems
- Ensure site operators are trained to operate and maintain critical systems
- Coordinate permits, licenses, agreements, and third-party maintenance supplier contracts
- Support site mobilization by procuring spares, tools, and consumables
- Review O&M manuals, as-built and record drawings, permits, certificates, warranty documents, and commissioning reports
- Conduct site walks and turnover walks to verify Operational Readiness
- Share lessons learned for future builds
- Coordinate formal transfer of site responsibility from Construction to Operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of combined experience in data center or mission-critical project management and technical operations
- Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects with defined schedules, budgets, and technical acceptance criteria
- 2+ years of experience in a technical role in Critical Facilities Operations or Maintenance Operations with exposure to mechanical, electrical, and controls systems, OR 2+ years of experience in industrial Construction or Commissioning in a technical capacity, OR 2+ years of Project Management experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects
- Proficiency in interpreting and reviewing commissioning reports, TAB reports, electrical and mechanical drawings, and equipment submittals
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to define time management and organizational practices for other teams and team members
- Ability to create teams from various departments and work in a high-level collaborative environment
- Ability to initiate, drive, and deliver projects and communicate plans and findings to internal customers and stakeholders
- Ability to travel up to 10% of total work time, including internationally in North America
- PMP or similar certification preferred
- Ability to occasionally stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop or kneel, talk, and hear
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds
