About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and facilitate Scrum and Scaled Agile events, including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, PI planning, and retrospectives
  • Identify, track, and resolve technical and organizational blockers across prime and subcontractor teams
  • Coach software engineering teams, Product Owners, and secondary leads on Scrum, SAFe practices, and Agile values
  • Serve as an Agile subject matter expert across the program
  • Drive communication, team cohesion, and alignment across hybrid engineering teams, prime contractor leads, government stakeholders, and external partners
  • Protect the development team from scope creep, external churn, and mid-sprint distractions
  • Monitor sprint velocity, burndown/burnup metrics, and delivery risks; design mitigation strategies
  • Promote operational transparency through metric reporting, velocity tracking, and open communication
  • Partner with the Product Owner on backlog refinement, feature definitions, and roadmap priorities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field (or equivalent operational experience)
  • 5+ years of experience leading Agile teams as a Scrum Master
  • Proven track record in complex government or defense technology programs
  • Extensive experience operating within Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) enterprise environments
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and driving team engagement in a hybrid/distributed workforce setting
  • Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph required
  • Advanced practical understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum principles, and SAFe frameworks
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to run large-scale facilitation events in person and via virtual collaboration platforms
  • Strong conflict-resolution and root-cause analysis skills
  • Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps (ADO), and digital whiteboarding tools
  • Proven ability to inspire, motivate, and empower engineering teams
