About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping across multiple client accounts
  • Categorize and record transactions in QuickBooks Online and other cloud-based accounting systems
  • Perform bank, credit card, balance sheet, and other account reconciliations
  • Support monthly close processes and preparation of accurate financial statements
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, depreciation, payroll adjustments, and other necessary entries
  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve accounting discrepancies and client-specific accounting issues
  • Maintain accurate, organized financial records and support cleanup or historical accounting projects as needed
  • Gather financial information and documentation for tax, advisory, and other client needs
  • Communicate proactively with Accounting Managers and other team members to resolve questions, obtain missing information, and keep client work moving
  • Manage multiple client accounts, priorities, and deadlines
  • Assist with process documentation and improvements to accounting workflows and internal systems
  • Take on additional accounting responsibilities and projects as directed by the Accounting Manager
  • Report directly to an Accounting Manager and work closely with the accounting team to support day-to-day client needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred; an associate degree or significant relevant accounting experience may be considered instead of a bachelor's degree
  • Approximately 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accrual accounting and monthly close processes
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and comfort learning other cloud-based accounting platforms
  • Ability to independently investigate and solve accounting problems
  • Strong reconciliation and journal-entry experience
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort working independently in a fully remote environment while remaining highly collaborative with the team
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented, team-first mindset
  • Experience with multi-entity businesses, sales tax compliance, certified payroll, insurance retainage, or other accounting platforms is a plus
