About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define, implement and oversee the Institute’s IT strategy
  • Ensure the availability, security, performance and evolution of the information system
  • Support business functions in their digital transformation and ensure IT governance
  • Align IT projects with the Institute’s strategic objectives
  • Integrate IT requirements into research projects and ensure the consistency of technical choices
  • Develop and champion a medium- and long-term IT systems master plan
  • Identify relevant technological developments and anticipate their impact on research, innovation and support services
  • Define IT evolution roadmaps covering architecture, cybersecurity, data and digital services
  • Develop governance that balances operational performance, risk management and innovation
  • Promote a culture of data usage and collaborative tools
  • Provide support for experimental platforms, test benches, simulation environments, data processing and scientific computing
  • Support scientific teams in selecting hardware and software architectures
  • Contribute to the development of research projects
  • Ensure the operational continuity of the information system
  • Manage outsourcing, telecommunications, hosting, cybersecurity and maintenance contracts
  • Lead projects involving Microsoft 365, server infrastructure, networks, cybersecurity, backup, telephony, cloud services and workstation modernization
  • Gather requirements, prepare specifications and consult suppliers
  • Monitor and approve services, acceptance testing and deployments
  • Support change through communication, awareness and training
  • Apply the IT security policy and manage Microsoft Defender, identities, MFA, privileges, monitoring and backups
  • Manage the Business Continuity Plan/Disaster Recovery Plan, vulnerability management and compliance
  • Lead incident response and risk assessments
  • Prepare budgets, optimize IT costs and participate in public procurement procedures
  • Maintain IT systems mapping, procedures, standards, documentation, inventories, addressing plans and network architecture
  • Define and monitor IT system performance and maturity indicators

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree from an engineering school or a Master’s degree in IT, information systems, cybersecurity or an equivalent qualification
  • More than 10 years of experience in a highly technical environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft environments and hybrid infrastructures
  • Proficiency in administering Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization systems, TCP/IP networks, containers, GPU servers, Hyper-V, storage, backups, LAN/WAN, Internet access, VPN, Wi-Fi, Palo Alto firewalls, Active Directory, Entra ID and Microsoft 365
  • Solid knowledge of cybersecurity, risk management and IT governance
  • Expertise in data classification and lifecycle management, as well as AI use cases
  • Familiarity with GitLab and DevOps
  • Experience managing service providers, budgets and projects, and supporting organizational change
  • Strong sense of responsibility and autonomy
  • Excellent organizational and self-management skills
  • Proactive mindset and strong ability to anticipate
  • Ability to communicate with technical, scientific and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in technical English
