About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct research for the New England Heat Pump Accelerator using quantitative and/or qualitative methods
- Analyze research to derive insights from literature reviews, code/policy/program research, stakeholder interviews or surveys, large existing datasets, innovation project data, and program performance metrics
- Support external client deliverables, including case studies, program reports, client memos, project tracking, research findings reports and presentations, and public-facing educational content
- Support project and program work under the direction of a program team lead
- Attend program meetings and assist with task management, file/document management, program administration, and record keeping
- Support development of approaches and methods and occasionally lead tasks
- Support other VEIC staff, groups, and divisions as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Undergraduate degree in a related field or a similar combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills were acquired
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to apply qualitative analysis techniques and data management practices
- Facility with data management and manipulation
- Strong research skills, including reading project reports or policy/regulatory information, synthesizing information, and composing client memos
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to be organized, detail oriented, and accurate
- General knowledge of standard office computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software
- Experience with energy efficiency and/or building electrification analysis, programs, or policies is preferred
- General understanding of regional energy and climate policies, utility programs, and decarbonization initiatives across New England or willingness to learn is preferred
- All positions are subject to criminal background checks
- Ability to remain stationary at a workstation for extended periods
- Regular use of computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone/headset
- Visual acuity for prolonged viewing of digital screens, documents, and presentations
- Verbal and auditory abilities sufficient for meetings, presentations, calls, and virtual collaboration
- Cognitive focus for managing multiple communication streams, projects, and stakeholder relationships
- Minimal lifting requirements, typically under 15 pounds
