About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and extend event-sourced .NET services on .NET 10 and ASP.NET Core
  • Deploy services to AWS EKS behind an Istio service mesh
  • Implement aggregates, commands, events, and read-model projections using Marten and Wolverine
  • Implement vertical slices from event model through backend handlers, projections, GraphQL API, and React screens
  • Build GraphQL APIs with Hot Chocolate, including filtering, sorting, pagination, and multi-tenant request handling
  • Work with AWS Kinesis streams and Amazon MSK (Kafka) for cross-service integration
  • Design idempotent and replay-safe message handlers
  • Maintain event models in draw.io and participate in modelling sessions
  • Work with Terraform, Helm deployments, and Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Use AI coding agents in delivery and participate in AI-assisted PR review
  • Contribute to the React 18 and TypeScript frontend when full-stack delivery is needed
  • Write tests, instrument services, and participate in code and design reviews
  • Modernize established CPQ and Pricepoint products by moving business logic from SQL Server stored procedures into .NET code

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of backend development in modern .NET (.NET 6 or newer)
  • Working understanding of Domain-Driven Design and CQRS
  • Appetite to deepen knowledge of event sourcing, projections, eventual consistency, and idempotent handlers
  • Comfort with asynchronous and message-driven code, including queues, streams, retries, and out-of-order messages
  • Solid SQL and relational data modelling; PostgreSQL experience preferred
  • Experience building HTTP or GraphQL APIs
  • Docker and working familiarity with Kubernetes
  • Exposure to a major cloud, ideally AWS, including IAM, S3, EKS, and Secrets Manager
  • CI/CD pipeline experience; Azure DevOps preferred
  • Git-based workflows with pull request review and required checks
  • Testing experience with xUnit and integration tests against real dependencies
  • Regular hands-on use of an AI coding agent such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or equivalent
  • Ability to critically review AI-generated code and identify invented APIs, behavior changes, and missing edge cases
  • Willingness to maintain AI agent context files such as CLAUDE.md or AGENTS.md
  • Full ownership of merged code
  • English language ability is explicitly indicated through weekly English classes, but fluency is not stated as a requirement
