About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment
  • Follow electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications
  • Replace faulty switches and other elements of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Dismantle electrical machinery and replace defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures
  • Troubleshoot, program, and maintain PLCs
  • Inspect and test electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits
  • Diagnose malfunctioning transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures using test equipment
  • Replace damaged or broken wires and cables
  • Install, repair, overhaul, modify, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery
  • Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electrical, electronic, and mechanical components throughout the plant
  • Maintain plant power distribution systems, including preventive maintenance and installation of wiring, conduit, and apparatus
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on electrical panels and maintain backup copies of equipment programs
  • Assist with preparing building components and systems for trades units and/or contractors; disassemble and install equipment and fixtures
  • Follow food safety policies, procedures, SQF code, GMPs, FSMA, and associated preventive controls
  • Perform other assigned duties; travel may be required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate Degree in Electronics, Electronic Technology or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance of industrial equipment and machinery, including PLC
  • Working knowledge and experience with Ladder Logic
  • Working knowledge of electronic and electrical concepts and operating safety
  • Demonstrated ability to use electronic and electrical test equipment, including digital and analog volt and ohm-meters, oscilloscopes, data analyzers and circuit testers
  • Knowledge of current national electrical code
  • Ability to work night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts
  • Ability to perform required physical tasks, including sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance
  • Willingness and ability to wear required personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work in adverse temperatures, around vibrations, chemicals, fumes, food allergens, confined and dark spaces, and at heights exceeding 18 feet
