About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Safely transfer quality product at a high rate of speed from the facility mixing and distribution system to customers’ preferred packaging
  • Operate filling and packaging equipment
  • Oversee and coordinate activities of other employees on the production line under the guidance and support of the Supervisor/Foreman
  • Fill containers according to customer specifications, including weight, bottle coding, labels, and case coding
  • Perform trained light equipment maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, timing, and sequencing
  • Perform autonomous maintenance after training and maintain assigned equipment
  • Train line support employees on complete line functions
  • Set up and assemble the line for production runs
  • Shut down equipment according to schedule
  • Maintain production output documentation and properly tag losses in Informance
  • Communicate and conduct shift handoff with the oncoming operator
  • Maintain operational sanitation and perform sanitation tasks
  • Perform quality control checks on lids, bag closures, wrapping, weights, codes, and cases
  • Ensure Ventura Foods’ process parameters are met
  • Support the safety culture, raise near misses, and report unsafe conditions or behaviors
  • Follow food safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Mechanical aptitude with good hand and eye coordination
  • Ability to work effectively with and lead others
  • Good judgment
  • Electrical knowledge
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Capable of being forklift licensed/certified
  • Sufficient physical strength and dexterity
  • Ability to intermittently sit, stand, walk, climb, squat, kneel, push, and pull
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more with assistance
  • Willingness and ability to wear personal protective equipment
  • Willingness and ability to work typical 8-12 hour shifts, additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends as required
  • Ability to work in possible adverse temperatures, vibrations, chemicals, fumes, food allergens, confined and dark spaces, and at heights exceeding 18 feet
  • Follow food safety policies, procedures, regulatory criteria, current SQF code, GMPs, FSMA, and associated preventive controls
