About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate filling and/or packaging equipment
- Complete daily and weekly preventive maintenance tasks
- Adjust and align primary machine functions
- Make minor mechanical repairs and replace certain defective parts
- Troubleshoot filler and packer issues and make adjustments in the HMI
- Maintain daily production and quality records
- Operate equipment safely and keep the work area clean
- Train and evaluate production assistants
- Ensure quality parameters, GMPs, and safety rules are followed
- Install and maintain product library information
- Sanitize filling line equipment, including operating C.I.P. circuits
- Mix chemicals in correct proportions while following safety requirements and wearing PPE
- Follow food safety policies, procedures, SQF code, GMPs, FSMA, and associated preventive controls
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of filling and packaging equipment
- Good mechanical ability, including diagnosing and resolving mechanical abnormalities
- Ability to set up and maintain machinery and make routine adjustments
- Ability to operate in a manufacturing environment and follow policies and procedures
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to work typical 8–12 hour shifts, with additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends as required
- Ability to perform physical tasks including sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance
- Ability to work in environments involving heat, cold, humidity, vibrations, chemicals, fumes, food allergens, confined or dark spaces, and heights above 18 feet when required
