About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Implement strategy and guide advancement of OPEX at the assigned production location
- Collaborate with Production Managers, Quality Managers, and site personnel to develop business plans, priorities, and goals
- Prioritize Continuous Improvement activity at the production location
- Model mindsets and behaviors that create trust, participation, and accountability
- Consult with OPEX Methodology Leaders to identify best practices and simplify and standardize work
- Review site practices and recommend organizational interventions such as training and coaching
- Guide process-improvement priorities that affect production and business results
- Champion waste elimination and reduction
- Build a coaching culture and coach site and above-site leadership through change and transformation
- Monitor improvement progress and sustain transformational gains through metric review and stakeholder consultation
- Oversee and directly supervise Fuel for Growth projects delivering more than 3% annual savings
- Lead improvement projects using standardized OPEX tools and methods to improve plant performance and operational results
Requirements
What you’ll need- College diploma or a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, operations, or comparable technical field; or 3–5 years in a Business improvement role and/or operations experience
- Professional certifications and experience in OPEX, World Class Manufacturing, World Class Operations, IWS, TPM, Autonomous Maintenance, Training Development, Organizational Development, Coaching, Lean, and Change Management are helpful
- Knowledge of production operations, particularly at the plant level
- Ability to lead, manage, and implement organizational and cultural change and deliver results
- Leadership development skills including feedback, coaching, listening, empowerment, and difficult conversations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport and maintain strong relationships across all levels
- Effective collaboration, facilitation, and teaching skills
- Ability to coach and influence individuals and teams without authority
- Conflict resolution and solution-focused problem-solving skills
- Results-oriented with ability to gather, analyze, and interpret information from varied sources
- Project management and time management skills; ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
- Ability to translate details into an organizational perspective
- Strong working competence in MS Office
- Ability to perform required physical tasks, including intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more with assistance may be required
- Willingness and ability to wear required personal protective equipment
- Willingness and ability to work typical 8–12 hour shifts, including additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends when required
