About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee workflow at the Saginaw, Texas facility
- Meet production, quality, safety, people leadership, engagement, cost, and OEE objectives
- Manage direct-report performance through direction setting, accountability, coaching, feedback, reviews, development, and training
- Monitor production using RedZone and by engaging with the area team on the floor
- Escalate production issues according to escalation criteria and communicate in a timely manner
- Plan, organize, and delegate work assignments to optimize schedules, manpower, and equipment
- Complete administrative tasks, including interviewing candidates, planning and scheduling, safety reporting, Kronos, and other system entries
- Ensure product specifications are met and immediately alert production management and quality assurance when quality is in question
- Resolve quality issues through personnel training and enforcement of standards
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects
- Attend specified meetings and provide detailed shift-handover information
- Serve as the link between the area team and upper management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of the manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership capability and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally and upwards
- Strong analytical, observation, and coaching skills
- Ability to motivate, lead, and engage employees
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong work ethic
- Experience in food manufacturing facilities and knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and sanitation practices is helpful
- Ability to work typical shifts of 8–12 hours per day
- Willingness and ability to wear required personal protective equipment
- Ability to perform required physical tasks, including intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more with assistance may be required
- Additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends may be required
