About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and other laboratory work under direct supervision
  • Accurately test, monitor, and document quality results and process data for products produced
  • Use RedZone to audit, verify, and follow up process controls, including weight checks, batch sheets, FSMA plant inspections, and receiving
  • Support process variations related to formula adjustments to satisfy customer requirements
  • Maintain effective communication with all operating departments
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment
  • Understand and apply the Hold Program functionality
  • Maintain and complete files and documentation accurately and timely
  • Utilize AS400 and/or JDE for necessary quality functions
  • Gain knowledge of crystallizing and tempering processes for oils and margarines and production processes for mayonnaises, dressings, and sauces
  • Follow food safety policies, procedures, and regulatory criteria, including SQF, GMPs, and FSMA preventive controls
  • Assist plant operations personnel with quality and processing questions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • 1 year of experience
  • Manufacturing lab environment experience preferred
  • Chemistry training
  • Good math, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Good Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and be a self-starter
  • Excellent teamwork and good interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact well with others at all levels
