About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee depot operations, including financial management, business development, strategic planning, and team management
- Deliver effective and safe services to maximum operational efficiency, within budget and to VMR standard
- Lead and mentor employees, fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional development and Veolia values
- Set performance goals, conduct performance evaluations, and provide feedback
- Monitor and evaluate operational performance, identify improvements, and implement best practices
- Drive Customer Centricity and maximise Customer Service and Operational KPIs
- Develop and manage the site budget and allocate resources efficiently
- Provide clear, transparent, and accurate business performance reporting
- Deliver operational efficiencies through digital media, asset utilisation, and cost control
- Understand local market conditions, competitors, and growth opportunities
- Serve as Nominated Transport Manager 2 with responsibility for fleet management and transport compliance
- Foster relationships with stakeholders, industry partners, and regulatory agencies
- Monitor the competitive landscape and develop strategies to maintain a competitive edge
- Deliver and promote succinct business-related messages and strategies to future customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous commercial waste management experience
- Level 3 Leadership & Management or equivalent work experience
- Transport CPC
- Financial and budget management experience
- Fleet management experience
- Strong understanding of waste management regulations, environmental sustainability, and waste disposal procedures is desirable
- IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH is desirable
