About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Promote a safety culture and lead by example
  • Deliver KPIs covering Risk and Assurance, Fleet Compliance, and Service Levels
  • Manage on-site contractors and issue permits in accordance with company procedures
  • Manage workshop technicians and support staff
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
  • Identify training needs and facilitate skills development
  • Act as primary point of contact for key customers
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly
  • Monitor timely delivery of products and services
  • Maintain quality standards and achieve customer expectations
  • Achieve operational targets for risk, asset availability, reliability, and costs
  • Report and address safety and environmental concerns
  • Support budget planning and CAPEX specification with technical information
  • Monitor equipment performance and improve process and equipment reliability
  • Ensure equipment servicing and maintenance comply with LOLER, PUWER, statutory regulations, and manufacturer recommendations
  • Complete health and safety monitoring, inspections, and incident reporting
  • Investigate equipment failures, determine root causes, and recommend cost-effective recovery plans
  • Plan maintenance priorities and procurement of parts and equipment
  • Manage preparation and review of work instructions and risk assessments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • City & Guilds, or HGV NVQ level 3 vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • LGV Category C or C+E Vocational Licence Holder
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, actively seek solutions to problems, and undertake a wide range of tasks
  • IT skills
  • Knowledge of MOT regulations
  • Level 3 Leadership & Management or equivalent work experience (desirable)
  • Irtec Technician Licence Holder (desirable)
  • Forklift licence (Counterbalance) (desirable)
  • HGV Licence (desirable)
  • Welding/fabrication skills (desirable)
  • Plant/RCV experience (desirable)
  • Electrical knowledge (desirable)
  • Leadership experience (desirable)
