About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute overarching commercial product strategies for each pipeline program
- Lead commercial strategy initiatives, including near-term product development plans, indication prioritization analyses, treatment paradigm mapping, target product profile evolution, and life-cycle management strategies
- Lead primary and secondary market research, advisory boards, differentiation strategies, and positioning/messaging development
- Develop product forecasts, baseline assumptions, emerging market scenarios, and key risk assessments
- Establish relationships with key opinion leaders and academic/community centers
- Lead advisory boards to gather insights and inform strategies
- Analyze the competitive landscape, US payer landscape, and patient journeys to produce actionable insights
- Support R&D teams through commercial opportunity assessments for new program initiatives
- Lead an integrated cross-functional team spanning Marketing, Sales, Medical, Market Access, Data Analytics, Corporate Affairs, Patient Support, Operations, and other functions
- Partner with cross-functional and R&D teams to inform development strategies
- Work with executive leadership to communicate the pipeline vision
- Translate scientific and clinical insights into patient-centric commercial goals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a science related field required
- At least 15 years of relevant experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical companies
- Minimum of 12 years direct experience leading Marketing, Commercial Strategy and/or New Product Planning functions
- PhD, MD, MBA or other advanced degree in scientific field preferred
- Substantial experience working in early and late-stage product development
- Experience conducting market research
- Knowledge of US payer environment and dynamics
- Insights into product launches
- Experience in oncology required
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Ability to work as a solo team member and build, inspire, motivate, and influence diverse teams that are not direct reports
- Proven ability to function effectively across a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders and constituents
- Highly collaborative with outstanding relationship, presentation and communication skills
