About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify, manage, and close sales opportunities within an assigned U.S. account territory
  • Work in a team selling environment with Product Managers, Subject Matter Experts, Business Development Representatives, Executives, and others
  • Prospect and sell based on business value
  • Gain knowledge of customers’ businesses and articulate Verisk’s value proposition consultatively
  • Understand customer decision-making processes and influence key decision makers
  • Qualify deals and solve customer problems
  • Exceed average annual new sales goals of $3.5M-$6M
  • Manage deals with an average new total contract value of $135,000 and an average sales cycle of 7 months
  • Manage existing solution revenue across 6 to 25 accounts for growth and retention
  • Build a pipeline of 2.5 to 3X the sales goal
  • Manage short-, mid-, and long-term strategic sales plans
  • Maintain and communicate territory activity, notes, updates, call reports, and opportunities in Salesforce.com
  • Develop customized solution proposals and contractual agreements
  • Coordinate sales opportunities with other Verisk team members
  • Provide feedback on industry trends, product ideas, and competitive intelligence
  • Facilitate trusting relationships within assigned territory accounts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Salesforce.com
  • Ability to work from a remote home office effectively
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Solid understanding and experience of Property Casualty Insurance is good to have
  • Working knowledge of insurance functions, especially Underwriting, Marketing, Product Development, Actuarial, and Modeling, is a plus
  • Three years’ experience and successful track record within a complex sales environment is good to have
  • Proven successful sales history in insurance software, data, geospatial and/or predictive modeling software solutions is a plus
  • Experience facilitating contract processes is good to have
  • Salesforce.com experience and comfortability adopting new tools is good to have
